Fong Chia Night Market (逢甲夜市) at Taichung - Taiwan

Our driver dropped us at the junction of FuXing Rd & FongChia Rd (N24.178803 E120.645136), and we started to hunt for our dinner....

We noticed the the Lane 20 of Fong Chia Rd (N24.178985 E120.645696) has many food stalls around, which is part if the Fong Chia Night Market (逢甲夜市), so decided to have our dinner here...

Wah! There were many food stalls in the lane, and we were confused what to try....as you can see from the photo below...all kind of foods available! Certain stall really interested! Like this one at the bottom right of the photo below...:)

Colourful Sports Shoes!

All of us agree to had the Oyster Vermicelli for the first hit...and I ordered mine with extra intestine...

I don't know whether because we were so hungry or the vermicelli was so Delicious?! I finished mine within 3 minutes! YUMMY! We were NOT done yet! It was just the first meal of the night market...

Noticed many stalls selling Deep Fried Chicken Chop along the street, our temptation told us...Don't reject it! And we found one of the stall with long queue...and grab one of it!

Waited about 10 minutes...we got our chicken chop!  
It was served in pieces in a small paper bag.

I like the sauce, but the chicken was average...(TWD50)

After we finished the chicken chop, we walked to the main road - Fuxing Road. There are more shops and food stalls along the road too!

We didn't try on it, well...we bought the Big Sausage & Small Sausage opposite of the Wolf Sausage stall. :)

About few hundred meters away from Fongchia road, we came to another junction and saw this...

Welcome to Fong Chia Night Market (逢甲夜市)

I believe this was another part of the night market in Wenhua road. We tried not to miss any lane here and so...just simply explore the street!

We explored the night market until midnight and I bought a few cans of Taiwan beer back to hotel.

Evergreen Laurel Hotel (長榮桂冠酒店) at Taichung, Taiwan

The Evergreen Laurel Hotel (長榮桂冠酒店) (N24.15930 E120.65698) is located along Section 2 - Tai Zhong Gang Road, Situn District of Taichung, Taiwan.

We had been arrange to this hotel for a night before Sun Moon Lake by the Travel Agent. Once the driver (Mr Yew) picked us at the airport, he drove us all the way from Taoyuan International Airport to Evergreen Laurel Hotel. The journey took about 2 hours...

We reached the hotel around 10.30pm. And all of us were starved! So we did the check in as fast as we can and had our dinner at Fong Chia Night Market that I'm going to blog about it in my next post.

I noticed this special fan just right after we stepped in from the main entrance...maybe it's for winter?! Have you seen this type of fan before?

Once we had done with the counter, we proceed to the room...

Clean bathtub provided. Too bad I don't really have time to enjoy it! We checked out on the next day early morning...

In the next morning, we woke up around 7am and had our buffet breakfast (included in the package) in the restaurant of the hotel...

The restaurant is spacious and variety of foods provided...we were Really Full! :)

We took our time to enjoy the breakfast because we still had plenty of time before the driver arrive...

I'm not really explore around the hotel because of the limited time. But the hotel gave us a Very Clean & Neat impression! And also the Polite and Friendly staffs! I like it!

Before we leave, I notice this Cute 'Lucky Tiger' statue beside the main entrance of the hotel.

"Don't Touch Me!" the small signage stated...

We were on the journey to Sun Moon Lake after checked out, well it was a long journey for us...

My Taiwan Trip on May, 2011

Visited Taiwan (Taichung & Taipei) for 6 days 5 nights trip on May 2011. My flight (CI 754) was from Singapore to Taoyuan, Taipei. And this was my first experience with China Airlines, anyway...not much different from others Airlines.

Checked in at Changi International Airport - Terminal 1, Singapore.

Everyone is provide with a LCD monitor, I watched 2 movies on the flight...

The flight took 4 hours and 20 minutes from Singapore. Once we reached Taoyuan International Airport at Taipei, and after the custom clearance...it was already dark...(sunset at Taipei 1835hrs)

Our transport brought us directly to Taichung after the Airport. Below was the Taiwan itinerary...

Day 1
*  Check in to Evergreen Laurel Hotel - Taichung
*  Dinner and hang out at Fong Chia Night Market (逢甲夜市).

Day 2
*  Check out Evergreen Laurel Hotel after breakfast
*  Heading to Xinshe Castle (新社古堡) for photography session.
*  Lunch at Master of Mushroom Restaurant (菇神), XieZhong St - Taichung
*  Zhong Tai Temple (中台禪寺), Puli Township (埔里鎮)
*  Che Cheng Train Station (車埕火車站)
*  Heading to Sun Moon Lake (日月潭)
*  Check in to Miracolo Hotel (米洛克飯店), Sun Moon Lake (日月潭)
*  Dinner at Ah Weng Restaurant, Sun Moon Lake (日月潭).

Day 3
*  After breakfast at Hotel, proceed to Shuishe Jetty (日月潭水社碼頭).
*  Syuan Kuang Temple (日月潭-玄光寺).
*  Ita Thao (伊達邵) Village.
*  Little Millet (小米酒) Museum.
*  Wenwu Temple (文武廟), Nantou County.
*  Lunch at Xin Tian Yuan Restaurant (新田园).
*  Puli Brewery (埔里酒廠) then heading to Taipei
*  Check in to Grand Victoria Hotel (維多麗亞酒店), Taipei.
*  Shilin Night Market (士林夜市)

Day 4
*  Gugong National Palace Museum (國立故宮博物院)
*  The Martyr's Shrine (忠烈祠)
*  Lunch at Yehliu (野柳)
*  Yehliu Geopark (野柳地質公園)
*  Jiufen (九份) Village
*  Dinner at Taipei

Day 5
*  Guang Hua Digital Plaza (光華商場), free and easy
*  Xi Men Ding (西門町) free and easy

Day 6
*  Back to Singapore.

Actually it seems like a photography trip to us...and we were satisfied and enjoyed this trip to Taiwan very much! Especially with a group of friends who were in same Hobby. I will blog about all the places I visited in the following blog post...
