As I mentioned earlier, Monterrey is a huge city. It’s so big we weren’t able to walk through it from north to south in a day. It’s difficult to find a good campsite in the city and it’s even harder to find one in the suburbs, because there are some dangerous or at least dangerous-looking guys on the streets.
But we were lucky, we found ourselves in front of a park with a swimming pool: Parque Canoas. We introduced ourselves to the security guards, and asked for a place to spend the night. They called their boss, and finally we got the permission, but that’s not all: we were allowed to take a shower, too. The park was a bit dirty and muddy, but it was OK, and a lot more we had expected... a really nice place to take a rest.
