The end of the desert, the brothers thought they would be able relax in the savannah, but it's not the magical garden as it is depicted in the nature films. Grass and mosquitos set back the WorldWalkers, but they didn't offer cold drinks and warm plates, they want to eat up the wanderers. See WorldWalk photos on Flickr marked by the tag Senegal. Enough about nature, let's see the people. Senegal has good facilities, at least better ones than Western-Sahara or Mauritania, but they don't make the most of it.

Locals seem to be lazy, an exapmle described by Ferenc: in a small village they saw a dead cow next to a house, and it seemed it had been there for many days, nobody had buried it, and the children were playing next to the carrion. These images might explain the plagues. The brothers had the impression, that people in Senegal are only waiting for the support from the West, and they don't do anything on their own. But it is justified: the weather is fair, there's enough food, what more do they need?

Finally, they reached Dakar, the destination of the African stage. This is a huge city, where everything is expensive. And more expensive for western tourists, the prices get doubled for foreigners. Local people are nice, but the end of the conversation is always the same: you are rich, I'm poor, give me something!
